What if I'm hungry when I start Medifast?

What if I’m hungry when I start Medifast?

I sometimes hear from people who worry they will be hungry and uncomfortable on Medifast. I heard from someone who said, “I’ve been dieting endlessly and am always hungry, so I have a very strong suspicion that I’ll also be uncomfortable on Medifast. What do people usually do when hunger strikes?” In the next article, I will give some tips on how to deal with hunger on this diet.

Know that you can snack: Many people don’t realize that you are allowed to have a snack every day on Medifast. And that’s in addition to the six meals you’ll already eat. You can get 3 celery sticks, 2 dill pickles, a cup of sugar-free jello, sugar-free ice cream, gum, or mints. You can also include one of the pre-packaged snacks in the diet such as potato chips or pretzels.

Brush your teeth: If you ate your snack and found yourself still hungry, go brush your teeth. I know it sounds silly but when your mouth is clean and fresh, you will hesitate to spoil the fresh feeling in your mouth with food.

Drink some water and go for a walk. Studies show that people sometimes confuse thirst with hunger. So, there’s a chance if you think you’re hungry, drinking some water may help relieve that. Plus, it helps distract you. walk. Or if you don’t feel like doing physical activity, read a book or listen to music. Anything that takes your mind off food can be helpful. A lot of the time, you’re just developing habits, so if you can make it through the first few days, things will get a lot better.

Make sure you space out your meals: One of the good things about this diet is that you eat regularly, because you eat six times a day (and more if you eat that snack I just talked about). So if you’re doing things right, you should be eating every two hours. I know this may sound annoying if you have a busy schedule, but eating more often really helps with hunger. In short, you don’t have much time to get hungry when you know you’ll be eating again soon. When I hear this complaint from people, one of the first things I wonder is how far apart their meals are.

If all else fails, don’t cheat with trash, cheat with an extra Medifast meal: This is just my opinion that I formed from my own experience and the experience of friends as well with the diet. But we think if you get hungry and need to cheat, you’d better grab another meal of Medifast because all of the foods are about 100 calories or less and are high in protein while low in carbs. One extra meal wouldn’t be so harmful. But the journey can be through a car trip. So be smart about being scammed. It’s definitely not the end of the world to have an extra 100 calories to beat a bulge. And you’ll know that you’ve made every attempt to stay in the diet rather than go out of it.
